Margarida Duarte

Margarida Duarte is Executive Vice President, Global Chief Commercial Officer at Deciphera Pharmaceuticals. Ms. Duarte joined Deciphera in 2021 as Senior Vice President, Head of International. As the first employee outside of the US, she led the company’s global expansion including the European build out.  She has over 20 years of experience in the global pharmaceutical industry and previous leadership roles in commercial, marketing, medical and strategy. Prior to joining Deciphera, she served as Vice President, Head of Commercial Canada, Europe, and Middle East and Africa for Alnylam Pharmaceuticals where she led the company’s commercial growth, including the launch of Alnylam’s first products in rare diseases. Before joining Alnylam, Ms. Duarte held multiple leadership positions at STEPSTONE Pharma, Exelixis, Onyx Pharmaceuticals and Amgen, with a focus in oncology and hematology. Ms. Duarte received her B.S. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Universidade de Lisboa and an Executive Master’s degree in Medical Marketing Management from Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. She also received a post graduate degree in Drug and Pharmacy Law from Universidade de Coimbra.
